| Refills for ongoing medications or contraceptives that we have prescribed for you may be obtained by calling during normal clinic office hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. We attempt to authorize refills promptly through local pharmacies but leave ample time since it may take up to 24-48 hours for the pharmacies to have you prescription ready for pick-up.
Refills requests for ongoing medications will not be possible apart from these hours. Requests to try different medications than ones you have been prescribed can not be safely handled by phone, but call if you feel the need to alter you medications and every attempt will be made to obtain a clinic appointment for you as promptly as can be arranged to review your medications. If you have not been seen within the past 12 months at our clinic, it is usually not possible to refill medications other than a very short term prescription for your ongoing medications to allow you to obtain an appointment at the clinic, unless specific exemptions have been granted by your physician. If medications have been prescribed by another clinic please call that clinic for refills or make an appointment with us to discuss continuing or changing these medications if you are no longer being seen at that clinic. If you have an emergent medical problem that may or may not require medication, please call the answering service at 1-800-726-5964, on weekends, holidays, and before or after normal clinic hours. We will make every attempt to return emergency calls promptly, but if we are unable to reach you and you have an acute new or emergent medical problem, please proceed to the emergency department at Skagit Valley Hospital, United General Hospital or the hospital nearest you. |
